Each spring and summer the little Cambrian Coast village of Llwyngwril, just up the coast from Tywyn, turns itself into an open-air gallery of knitted and crocheted street art. Its celebrated Yarn Bombing project drapes trees, benches and lamp posts in colourful, intricate woolly creations, with past seasons bringing Snowdonia’s myths and legends to life, from local history to characters like Gwril the Giant.
The displays are scattered through the village streets and around Llwyngwril railway station, so the whole trail is easy to take in on a gentle stroll. The team refreshes the creations from year to year, so no two seasons look quite the same.
Visiting the trail
