Dolgoch Falls Waterfall Walk

Dolgoch Falls are a series of three impressive waterfalls forming part of the Nant Dol-Góch stream, a source for the River Fathew, and can be reached via a short walk, or by a trip on the Tal y Llyn Railway. There are a number of caves and tunnels which you can explore on the route up.

The walk up the waterfalls begins at the The Dolgoch B&B, along a beautiful stream and past some deep caves.

Where are Dolgoch Falls?

Dolgoch falls are a short 4 mile drive northeast of Tywyn on the B4405 easily reached from Tywyn or Machynlleth. Or alternatively, you can get there by steam power! The Talyllyn Railway stops at Dolgoch Falls, and there are clear signs from the station directing you towards the water falls.

Can you take dogs to Dolgoch Falls?

Pups who love to paddle will absolutely love a trip to Dolgoch Falls, and there are plenty of opportunities for dogs to get in the water.

When is Dolgoch Falls open?

The falls are attractive at any time of year offering restful serenity beneath the trees. If the weather is wet, then the waterfalls are even more stunning as the water thunders down the river. Please note that for all but the lower falls the paths can be steep with a lot of steps, so please take care when walking up to the waterfalls.
