The Aberdyfi Food Festival is back by popular demand for its third year and will be held on the Wharf in the centre of the village on Saturday 19th August.
The Festival will feature cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs as well as the opportunity to sample and purchase a wide range of Welsh produce including sea food, award winning cheeses, locally reared meat, Snowdonia honey, smoked foods, preserves & jams, Welsh wine, beer & cider, organic vegetables & herbs.
The Festival is free of charge and will be open from 10.30am to 16.30pm and will also feature a ‘Craberdyfi’ crabbing competition for youngsters.
Michelin-starred chef Gareth Ward from Ynyshir Hall is the special guest and he will get the cookery demonstrations underway at 11.00am in the theatre kitchen, where he will showcase his culinary skills. Other local chefs and suppliers will also be putting on demonstrations throughout the day, including a specialist vegan chef.
Event organiser Neil Storkey said: “The food festival has been incredibly popular over the past couple of years and is now firmly established as one of the highlights of Aberdyfi’s summer season.
“This is an event for everyone, whatever their age and culinary preferences. Visitors can watch demonstrations, browse the stalls, sample the food and buy fresh produce they may not have come across before.”
The Aberdyfi Food Festival is sponsored by the Aberdyfi Community Council.
